Yesterday,
March 3,
2012 our
beautiful
Firefly
crossed
over the
rainbow
bridge.
She was
just shy
of 19
years
old - to
turn on
March 5.
Firefly
was a
special
cat from
the
minute
she was
born.
She was
a show
girl the
moment
she
stepped
out onto
the
judges
table
and had
her
trademark
of
stretching
and
putting
her butt
in the
air in
each and
every
ring.
She
showed
at a
time
when it
was
difficult
for a
girl to
compete
but
Firefly
had no
problem
taking
on the
boys.
She just
missed a
NW back
in1993
by just
a slim
margin.
Firefly
had
broken
her leg
a couple
of weeks
ago and
it just
took its
toll on
her. She
was the
ambassador
of cats
at our
home and
made
many pet
buyers
want one
just
like her
but that
was
impossible.
We are
so
thankful
that Sue
and Bill
allowed
Firefly
to
become a
special
part of
our life
and
family.
She is
already
greatly
missed
and will
be
forever.
She is
now with
some of
the
great
cats
that
passed
before
her.

It
is hard to not shed a tear when
talking of this boy. If you go
back to our intro page we talk
about going to a local cat show
and discovering this breed - this
is the boy who changed our lives
for ever. Troy aka as "Uncle
Buck" was the kitty who opened
up doors for us beyond imagination.
He was our first Maine Coon. He
was the official greeter, teacher
of all antics to the youngsters,
and best friend to all who met
him. All who visited would say
"We want one just like Troy",
but that was never possible. He
was a very special cat in many
ways. He could open doors, drink
a glass of milk daily with his
paw, lay in bed snoring loudly,
just to name a few of his unique
qualities.Things will never be
the same around here without him
- the doors stay closed, his special
glass sits empty but he will live
on in our hearts for ever and
ever.
